HISTORY

DeGroods Appliance was established in 1952 by John DeGrood.  Operations began from a small store front located at 115 South Front Street.  Business grew and in 1964 relocated to a 6,400 sq. ft. building located at 1014 South Front Street.  As John’s commitment to quality products and service grew so did the need for additional retail space and in 1972, John expanded the store to 8,900 sq. ft. 
                                  
In 1995, John’s sons Steve and Joe purchased the business.  Over the next ten years DeGrood’s expanded the scope of retail sales and service while maintaining that high standard of customer care established by their father. 

In 2005, the business relocated and expanded to a 15,000 sq. ft. state of the art retail showroom located on the intersection of North Victory Drive and Saint Andrews Drive.   
This new investment in the facility represents DeGrood’s continuing commitment to provide quality customer service and the latest in appliance and electronics technology to Southern Minnesota customers.  

DeGrood’s continues to offer the latest in quality merchandise and service in Southern Minnesota and has welcomed the third generation of DeGroods to continue their legacy.  Luke DeGrood, Steve’s son, is our Lead Service Technician.  Mitch DeGrood, Joe’s son, runs DeGrood’s Delivery Service.
